Tell us about your life before ALS:
An owner of an Auto Parts for close to 30 years. Enjoyed the fishing in the Florida Keys where I have a home. Also enjoyed hunting trips in Wyoming, Montana, Texas, Georgia and Florida. Always was the “handyman” of the whole family.

Tell us about your life with ALS:
Many life adjustments have been made, from depending on an electric wheelchair (where the grandkids ride along) to home remodeling. A much slower pace, with my caretaker being my lovely wife who does everything for me. We take one day at a time.

Tell us how ALS has brought new significance to any aspect of your life - family, attitude, hobbies/passions, career, etc.:
With an extremely close family, we have many family outings and continued visits to the house keep me happy. I continue to be the “family handyman,” but now with suggestions and advice on how to do it right! The family still carries me out to the beach and has made a floating chair in which they all hold me and I can still enjoy the ocean.
