Hi Mike

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:27:46 PM)
how are you today?

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:28:52 PM)
great ty and you?

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:29:34 PM)
I am doing pretty good.

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:30:26 PM)
glad to hear that

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:31:55 PM)
I am still finding it difficult to get around in a wheelchair. Sitting in his chair all day is about to drive me insane.

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:32:38 PM)
I hear ya

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:33:40 PM)
what kind of seat cushion do you have

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:34:38 PM)
Currently I am using aRoho cushion. What tricks do you use?

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:36:00 PM)
I have a Roho quad air

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:37:09 PM)
It gets to me after about 8 hours

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:37:21 PM)
I cannot tell the difference in cushions. This chair is a loner until I receive my permanent chair.

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:38:45 PM)
I have several gel cushions also

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:39:53 PM)
Do you change cushions during the day?

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:41:00 PM)
I make sure my butt is as far back as it can go to start with

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:42:17 PM)
no i use one of the gel cushions now and then

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:43:57 PM)
I try to keep my rear end as far that as possible.

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:44:32 PM)
but rather than change during the day I get back in bed

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:46:12 PM)
That's basically what I am doing to. I get back into bed for a few hours at a time. I have two bids to choose from, one that's I shared with my wife, and the other is a hospital bed. So depending on how I feel determines where I will be sleeping.

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:46:52 PM)
If necessary someone will lay my chair back and slide me up

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:48:14 PM)
ah I stay in the hospital bed

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:49:27 PM)
been in that bed since 2001

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:49:43 PM)
What type of mattress do you have for your hospital bed?

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:51:23 PM)
a hill-rom silk air right now

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:52:49 PM)
Silk air? Is that the type to that has air flowing through to create a wave?

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:54:04 PM)
it has air going through it but no wave

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:55:28 PM)
It is probably the mattress that I was thinking about. How comfortable is the mattress?

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 3:56:22 PM)
very comfortable

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 3:58:16 PM)
That is probably the type a mattress I need to get

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 4:00:00 PM)
do you have bed sores

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 4:01:13 PM)
No, but I want to avoid bedsores at all costs.

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 4:03:14 PM)
Do you find transfers easy?

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 4:03:49 PM)
I had some so medicare got me this mattress for a while

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 4:04:23 PM)
I have a lift

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 4:05:25 PM)
Do you need a lot of room to navigate the lift?

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 4:06:40 PM)
I would not buy one of these mattresses unless it was absolutely necessary

MichaelJ (Dec 10, 2007 4:07:01 PM)
Why is that?

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 4:07:37 PM)
no it is a ceiling lift

Jim_VA (Dec 10, 2007 4:08:57 PM)
because they run between $2000 and $6500
